How to distinguish the viscosity of protective film
Jun 28, 2024
As for the viscosity of the protective film, there is currently no international standard. The viscosity of this protective film is generally determined by the company itself. The classifications with more reference value are probably slight viscosity, low viscosity, medium viscosity, and high viscosity.
Regarding micro viscosity, it is 0.02~0.1N, low viscosity is 0.1~1N, medium viscosity is 1~2N, and high viscosity is 2~6N, but this is sometimes not necessarily true.
Regarding the viscosity selection of the protective film, the basic principle is that the viscosity is appropriate. In layman's terms, because different surfaces require different viscosity, we can observe that the viscosity rise rate is also different based on the surface and pressure.
We need to leave the protective film for a long enough time before peeling it off, so that we can determine whether the adhesiveness of the protective film is appropriate.
Regarding the protective film, it uses rubber or acrylic protective film, and the effects of the two are different. Rubber is relatively soft, but acrylic is relatively hard, so when we choose, we usually consider the rubber-type protective film first, and the acrylic-type protective film second.
