How to identify different materials of protective film
Dec 07, 2021
There are many types of protective film, such as viscosity, thickness, material, etc. The viscosity and thickness of the protective film need to be personally experienced, and you can know it by touching it, and the difference in material is also obvious.
The PP material protective film was the first to appear on the market. This material is actually the material of the plastic bag we usually use. The chemical name is polypropylene and it does not have any adsorption capacity. It is a non-toxic and pollution-free environmentally friendly material, colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, good gloss, good film surface flatness, and has high tensile strength, impact strength, rigidity, toughness and good Transparency, small crystal points, temperature resistance and abrasion resistance.
Mainly used for surface protection of hardware, plastics, electronics (such as mobile phone components, electronic components, etc.) and other industrial applications
As a protection for LCD screens, mobile phone lenses, computer cases, MP3 mirrors, etc.
PE is the most common protective film with a relatively soft texture. It uses a special polyethylene (PE) plastic film as the base material. In a dust-free environment of 1,000 grades, the blended glue is evenly coated on the PE film through high-precision coating production equipment According to the requirements of different products, products with different thickness and viscosity can be produced.
The protective film of PE material is divided into electrostatic film, anilox film and so on. Electrostatic film is a kind of protective film with no glue at all with electrostatic adsorption force as its adhesive force. Of course, its viscosity is relatively weak, and it is mainly used for surface protection such as electroplating. Anilox film is a kind of protective film with many meshes on the surface. This kind of protective film has better air permeability and has a more beautiful paste effect, unlike plain weave film that will leave air bubbles.
The biggest advantage of PE protective film is that the protected product is not polluted, corroded, scratched during production, transportation, storage and use, and protects the original smooth and shiny surface, thereby improving product quality and market competitiveness .
Hardware industry: computer case, galvanized sheet stamping, aluminum sheet, stainless steel sheet, titanium sheet, plastic steel sheet, glass sheet, solar panel, etc.
PET protective film is currently the most common type of protective sticker on the market. In fact, the plastic Coke bottles we usually see are made of PET, also called PET bottles. The chemical name is polyester film. The characteristics of PET protective films are The texture is harder, more scratch resistant, and has good transparency and gas barrier properties.
This type of product has suitable bonding strength to various pasted objects such as metal, plastic, glass, and has good retention performance; low viscosity, smooth and flat surface of the protective film; good weather resistance, heat resistance, acid and alkali resistance.
PU protective film
PU protective film is a high-temperature protective film that uses environmentally friendly PET as the base material and is coated with PU glue to make it have low adhesion and long-term bonding without degumming after removal. It has the characteristics of high light transmittance, strong weather resistance, low adhesion and easy tearing, no glue residue, high temperature resistance and so on.
PVC material
The characteristic of the PVC protective sticker is that it has a soft texture and is easy to stick, but this kind of material is relatively thick and has poor light transmittance, making the screen look dim. It will also leave glue marks on the screen after tearing it off. This kind of material is also easier to turn yellow and oil out with the change of temperature, and the service life is relatively short. So there is basically no such protective film on the market now.
What can be seen on the market is an improved version of PVC protective film, which solves the previous problems of heavy weight and poor light transmittance, but it still can’t solve the problem of easy turning yellow and oil, and it needs to be paid attention to PVC. The material does not have the ability to resist scratches.
