Types of Metal Protection Film

 

White PE Protective Film
The protective film suitable for most applications is PE protective film with a rubber adhesive layer. When the quality of the film to be used is not specified, the protective film is applied by default to the surface to be protected. The adhesive may be transparent or blue. Transparent adhesives look white in the film. To prevent the transfer of the adhesive, protective films coated with clear adhesive should not be exposed to sunlight for more than a few hours to prevent the adhesive from breaking down and leaving a residue on the metal surface when the film is peeled off.

 

Blue PVC Protective Film
Blue PVC protective film is suitable for deep-drawing applications, particularly multi-stage deep-drawing. It is a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film with a rubber adhesive layer. The film has a nominal thickness of 70 microns and is light blue in color. The protective film should be used at a temperature of 15°C to 40°C. Do not expose the protective film to sunlight for more than a few hours as this may cause the adhesive to break down and lead to adhesive transfer, which may interfere with deep punching or leave a residue on the metal surface when the film is peeled off.

 

Black PVC Protective Film
This metal protective film is suitable for heavy-duty roll forming and other applications where heavy-duty surface protection is required. It is a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) flm with an acrylic adhesive layer that provides a very high adhesive strength. The protective film should be used at temperatures between 15°C and 40°C. The protective film is weather resistant and can be exposed to sunlight for several months while providing reliable protection.

Use Method of Metal Protective Film

 

Use a film applicator to apply it to a clean, dry surface. There should be no air bubbles between the protective film and the protected surface, and the metal protection film should not be over-stretched (usually it is required that the elongation of the protective film should be less than 1 after application) %).


When storing, it also needs to be stored in the original packaging and placed in a clean and dry environment.


It is recommended that the metal protection film be used within six months from the date of delivery, and the protective film must be removed within one year from the date of application.


The protected surface should not be exposed to outdoor sunlight and cause aging, especially under ultraviolet rays.


Before cleaning the protective film, be sure to wear gloves to prevent fingerprints or hand stains from sticking to it and causing secondary damage.


When tearing, be careful to tear it in one piece. When tearing, be careful to keep your fingers close to the direction of force.


You can use a hair dryer to heat the protective film. After heating, the two will differentiate and it will be easy to tear off. You can also use nail polish remover, acetone, banana water and other cleaning agents for cleaning.
